Billed as Twitter for comments, BlackType is the new kid on the block for following others comments and for others to see where you are commenting.
I’m taking it for a spin. As I understand it, now that I am registered, every time I comment on a blog, and fill in that comment form with the address of my site, BackType collects all those comments together, and you can follow me on BackType here.
This means I and others have one place to view all the comments I am leaving, and where I am discussing. Also it allows me to follow others, like twitter, and see what discussions and blogs they are posting on and in.

There is something about holidays, that inspire me to reflect, dream and think about where I have been, where I am, and where I am going. In particular about some of my personal life goals and aims.
I sat down today, and thanks to having listed my goals at ‘43 Things’, reminding myself of them has been easy.
43 Things is a great site for putting up goals you have about anything, writing your progress, and cheering on others with similar goals, or goals that you find interesting, and for others to be inspired by you.
So I’ve completed a weight loss goal, and added a new goal today, you can see mine here.
I’ve also put them here with some notes, revealing far more about me than you probably want/need to know. What are yours, and why not put them up on 43 things?

Reading this tweet on twitter from Len Sweet, and the suggestion that ‘aesthetics is the pomo apologetics’, got me wondering why, and how depressing if that is the case (the ongoing experience of Len Sweet is the provocation into reflection).Sometimes I think all conversations and aspirations for church are in danger of collapsing into aesthetics. We can talk mission, consume mission, and ultimately re-package mission, but can we actually get on and do it?
Then with that thought rattling around, I was reading Fernando Gros just now and at the end of this superb post ‘driscoll, cardigans and kicking people in the head’, he riffs then links to a great quote and post, about Karl Barth, cardigans and the aesthetics of ‘fashion’.

I wrote a few days ago about my new embrace of Twitter.
I had found it rather inane and gave too much background noise and interruption to my online life. It’s the educational possibilities (given my roles in teaching/training) that have particularly excited me, and spurred me on to reconsider it.
You can explore some of those possibilities in this article, that has 25 Twitter Hacks/Tips. I’ll be making use of grouptweet with students on a masters program I teaching this autumn/fall.

Thanks to everyone who completed the survey for my site redesign.
There will be a major shift in rational, style, and layout to my site, with a new focus for content, in a few weeks time.
Over the next few weeks while the redesign is being started/rolled out, I’m going to take some time to blog about what the changes will be, and take stock of my blogging over the past 6 years.
Most of my site has been about Emerging Church interactions/intersections, and I’m going to use the site revamp as an opportunity to summarise those 6 years, before moving to the new format and content.
The end of one period of my life, and the move to another, I hope.

Makesha, via twitter, introduced me to Cooliris, formerly Piclens.
It has to be the most amazing browser plugin/extension, for image viewing I have come across. Now to see if I can work out how to optimise my site for it?

Mainly due to abuse by my parents when I was growing up, I often have contemplated changing my last name over the years.
More recently one of my brothers, emailed me to let me know that when looking for me online, he found a satanist, called Jason Clark. Seems as of today that this Jason Clark has found me and is linking to my site.
Maybe it is time to change my name after all ;-)!?

Rob Bell has a new Nooma video out, called ‘She’. You can see the preview on facebook here.
It’s all about female nature of God, and the role of women. I loved it as much as all the other Nooma videos.

It’s only since I got twitter hooked up with facebook that I’ve been using it, via my phone, and I love it.
All I need now are some more friends to start using it.
