The Kingdom of God challenge…

dance.jpgIn the interview I conducted with each of our recent guest writers/contributors to the site I asked them how they would define the kingdom of God in five words or less.

Well now I’d like to throw the question open for you to join in the fun. In five words or less how would you explain/define/understand/express/feel-about the kingdom of God…

As a refresher here are what our guest writers/contributors came up with:

Practical. Contextually-relevant. Radicall

    Completely totally unknowable to me.

(That’s how I feel at this moment. Wait around; I’ll feel differently later. I always do.)

ok…my apologies because i can be a nerdy-wordy guy, so here is another

    ‘as mourning turned into dancing’

and some wordcraft to go with it:

plummeting hope in the midst of warfare…
mournful eyes blurred with sweat and strain
as the inevitable wave of disaster rushes headlong…

    [and then]

    mouth gapes with utter surprise…
how could eyes be so blind to
a beautiful metamorphosis now blurred by tears

the beautiful catastrophe…destruction with a purpose

as mourning is turned into dancing

I love reading the varied answers :)

Marcia, you might like what NT Wright said in his lectures I heard last week:

“We have signposts into the fog – what lies ahead is unimaginable and we can’t see it; but the signposts are real and our calling is to follow them.”

By the way, I wrote about my answer “a tree birds rest in” on my blog.
