The Deep Church Lectures are a series of short talks and conversations with Andrew Walker. Here at WTC, Andrew’s teaching is available to all. His expertise in the History of early Christian doctrine, modern renewal, the charismatic movement and the modernist/post-modern context of the church will be offered in a three part series. Part one will run over 6-weeks to begin 2nd November 2006 and includes the following:

Series One: Disruption, Doubt, and Disclosure in the Christian Life

Andrew Walker. Professor in Theology and Education at Kings College London is a lay preacher in the Russian Orthodox Church and ecumenical canon of St Paul’s Cathedral. Former director of the C.S. Lewis Centre and of Gospel & Culture he was also visiting professor in mission and evangelism in North America from 1987 to 2003.

Andrew’s work has gained international recognition both in Europe, the Antipodes, and the United States. He is the author of several monographs including Restoring the Kingdom and Telling the Story and co-author of Charismatic Renewal and the three-volume report, The Forgotten Trinity, for the British Council of Churches.
He is editor of the ‘Deep Church’ series from Paternoster Press (books on the relationship between tradition and contemporary religious practice) and has recently written on The Idea of a Christian University.

Here at WTC, Andrew’s teaching is available to all. His expertise in the History of early Christian doctrine, modern renewal, the charismatic movement and the modernist/post-modern context of the church will be offered in a 6-week series to begin 2nd November 2006. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear one of the UK’s finest Christian scholars plumb the depths of the Christian tradition to help us face the challenges of our contemporary world.
