Prayer Request
19 Jun 2006

If you have the time, and notion, I would covet your prayers. Things are hard at present. Family pressures with my brother, and my dad and his other family, my work load, my wife Bev being ill and run down, my own mental health, a series of heart breaking pastoral issues at church that need my attention.
It’s one of this times when everything seems to be pushing down on us, both our cars being driven into by people who just drove off, a flood damaged house, etc. All of these things are eating into my emotional bandwidth.
In it all, I want to let go and trust Jesus, and find his peace, and support.

hold Jason tight Lord. Take care of him and all the concerns which may overwhelm him today.

Almighty God, you know Jason and Bev’s situation intimately. Have compassion on them. Restore their bodies, minds and souls. Give them your peace, the peace that surprises and surpasses all understanding. If possible, allow us to shoulder this burden with Jason. Show us how and when and where we can minister to him. May his soul find new strength and courage so that he can pastor and write and lead and love like never before; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ my Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Be assured of our prayers. It’s a war out there, but our rest and peace is in Jesus, our Victor!

Jason, I totally will be praying for you my brother. May God give you strength. A Scripture that comes to mind that I feel the Lord wants me to encourage you with is “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary and they shall walk and not faint.” Sorry for the length but this scripture seems to always life me up and encourage me when I feel like I have no energy or strength to endure very terrible momments. I hope this was an encouragement to you. I love you in the Lord. I also pray prophetically (in that I feel this is what the Lord is saying strongly from to you)that “Tomorrow will be a new day” and “Tomorrow all of the things that seem to have no answers will come to light.” “Once these situations are through you will be on solid ground in Me.” I have no idea what this means for you but God does. :) May God richly bless you and your family.

Habakkuk 3:17-19
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.”
Your request and the loving, sincere responses it received touches my heart. Your Lord has surrounded you with people who love you very much – you are a blessed man. May God continue to be the audience of your lament, may he be your source of strength, and may he give you peace that surpasses all understanding. Agape.

Jason,
Myself no stranger to material, emotional, and spiritual difficulties, know that you have prayers sent up from the blue hills of Kentucky on your behalf. Also, if it means anything to you, I’ve also requested the prayers of St. Jude (he the patron of impossible causes) be sent to the Father on account of you. May God turn these trials into a blessing.

Hi Jason,
We’ll be praying. Tough times are just that, tough but you’ll get through it. And judging from the comments here looks like there’s a few of us watching your back.
Take care

O Lord, in this time of need
You are my strength and my shield;
You are my refuge and my haven
You are my help in times of trouble.
The body grows weary, but my hope is in you
You are my strength
I do not fear
You are with me
I shall not falter
You are my God
With a fathers hand to guide me
Even as the shadows of life cover me,
I feel the comfort of your strength, O Lord.
Amen.

I trust in Thee, O Lord,
I say, Thou art my God.
My times are in Thy hand,
my times are in Thy hand.
Blessed be the Lord,
for He hath wondrously shown
His steadfast love to me,
His steadfast love to me.
Psalm 31:14-15, 21

Jason: I went to Jonathan Hallewell’s site this morning, saw your link and clicked on it, and saw your prayer request. Later in the day, Jonathan told me about you, without a prompt! I’m also a pastor, and I know what it means to wrestle against insurmountable odds, against principalities and powers. It’s one thing when one tire goes flat, but when all four do… the enemy has shown his hand. Stand fast! Looks like you have many friends who are with you. Even though we’ve never met, we fight side by side. I lift you and your wife, your family and all that is yours up to God in prayer.

Jason,
My mom passed on your prayer request. I will keep you, your family and your church in my prayers. God will do great things. It it exciting (and exhausting) to see what He has in store for you. Take a deep breath and rest in the Lord. Much love, Andi
