Well my goals and plans for growing as a human being and christian this year, include some some spiritual disciplines;
1. undertake the image pilgrimage with emergent friends
2. read the ‘message’ bible in full
3. read a theology book weekly for reflection/mediation and not just my doctoral course

I’m also reading through “The Message” Bible this year. (I’ve got the “remix” version.) It’s, honestly, the only thing that’s been able to get me back into the Bible after weeks of dryness in my quiet time. I just couldn’t bring myself to pick up the Bible just to read it for the sake of reading it (even though I know God has spoken to me very powerfully through His word in the past). I’m grateful for a fresh take on the Scripture to help me through this dry season.
